How to put Verizon G1100 into bridge mode?
How to put G1100 into bridge mode? I have Google Wifi that I use for my Xbox , and I wanted that to be my main router.
Just got a G3100 and a new setup. How do I bridge it?
Followed the directions for the 1100 but no go.
My Setup:
ONT -> G3100 COAX (For TV)
ONT -> Asus Router WAN port
Asus Router LAN port -> G3100 WAN port
All LAN/WiFi devices on ASUS router have internet
TV has video
Can no longer use remotes (voice searches) or VOD
How do I fix it do that the boxes get the IP scheme from my router (10.0.1.X)?
Is there an official set up to put this unit is bridge mode?
fios in hanover
Live in 23111 zip code of Hanover and still cannot get Fios. Have been checking and asking for it from Verizon for years without any response from Verizon. Comcast and Direct TV seem to be only options.
FIOS in Manhattan - Slow unreliable Gigabit speed
I've been having problems with FIOS speed for a while now, and everytime Verizon send a technicians, either they switch the modem or tell me that there are no issues with the lines. The speed goes up while they are here, and a day after they leave it goes back down.
In general their staff doesn't seem to be very interested in solving the problem, or they just don't know what to do about it. If it's impossible to fix the wiring in the building, at least I wish they'd admit it so that I drop my service or find another provider. The Gigabit service is so expensive and I can't get more than 350-500 on a direct wired connection.
The pictures below are from a direct wired connection, Modem - Macbook Pro, no router, no 3rd party.
Curious, is anyone else experiencing these issues/shenanigans with FIOS in NYC ?
Unstable fios connection (internet only, no router)
I'm on the verge of switching to another internet provider (that's more expensive AND slower) if I can't get this situation figured out. Suggestions from anyone who has solved a similar case would be greatly appreciated!
I had a recent install of FiOS (internet only) in Jersey City NJ, and I wanted to plug my windows 10 PC (built about a year and a half ago) directly into the ONT. This PC was connecting fine on a broadband connection through a different isp just a couple of weeks before my FiOS install, and I made no hardware/software changes in those weeks. I'm in a large apartment building, and the Verizon technician had to drill a hole in a wall and run new fiber, to a new ONT he brought with him. I did not rent/buy any router from Verizon.
I have an internet connection, but it's extremely unstable. I am unable to load even basic text based sites about half the time, file downloads often fail part way through or are far slower than they should be, and online games are usually unplayable. For short periods of time, my connection seems excellent and everything is great. I haven't identified a pattern for when the connection is good/bad. It doesn't seem to be linked to CPU/GPU/RAM usage, system temperature, or time of day.
Internet speed tests either fail to complete (Verizon's always seems to fail), show download/upload speeds that meet or exceed what I pay for, or occasionally show much lower speeds than expected.
I called Verizon support, waited for 2 hours, and then had the phone answered by someone using a really condescending tone and attitude (before I had spoken a single word). I scheduled a service appointment, and two guys came over to switch out the ONT for a new one. One of them suggested it could be a problem with the Ethernet cable, so that was swapped out too. They were able to load a webpage, so they said it looked to be fixed. One of the guys cryptically suggested that the problems could be on Verizon's side, but didn't provide further details.
In both the initial install and the service appointment, the line was tested and declared to be working fine. The ONT itself has not displayed any red lights, and it's placed in the open where overheating should be unlikely.
When troubleshooting, I tried connecting a wireless router rated to handle the speeds I pay for (Netgear Nighthawk AC1900 R7000), but the connection problems seemed to be the same on both a phone and a laptop over WiFi.
Again, if anyone can tell me the right move here, I would really appreciate it. Thanks!
IP address blocked by SORBS, Verizon will do nothing
I had Verizon FIOS installed yesterday for my internet. Everything was working fine when I had Xfinity, but there is a lot of trouble now. I cannot access sites that need to geolocate me in NJ. The sites keep telling me I need to download the geolocation plugin, which I of course have had since I signed up. After a few long calls with Verizon (and using 5 different IP addresses), it appears the sites use a system called SORBS, operated by a company called Proofpoint, Inc. and this SORBS is blocking many Verizon IP addresses. I believe it is because Verizon IP addresses are dynamic. Verizon says that since they are not the ones blocking me, they have done all they can and refuse to contact the sites or SORBS. In order to use the sites I have to hotspot my phone then switch over to the Verizon network (and it still doesn't fully work). It's an annoying and inconsistent extra step I'd like to not have to do. What can be done? Why won't Verizon address this issue? Looking back at community posts, this has been happening for over 10 years!!
The SORBS site is difficult to understand, and the one thing I could figure out says my IP address is not int heir database... So I don't know what is going on...
Someone PLEASE help!! I JUST got Verizon again yesterday - I don't want to have to switch providers again... HELP!!!
ONT Box
While in the process of redoing my basement, my contractor dropped the ONT box and damaged it....it still works and I have cable and internet.....however, the slightest touch and I lose the signal.....will Verizon replace the ONT box or charge me....I don’t mind paying for the tech to come out and do the repair, however I figure a new ONT box is expensive....thanks
Is it possible to use fios tv one without fios router?
fios 75/75 to gigabit wiring in house
I currently have fios 75/75, an 11 year old connection. I am upgrading to gigbit on Wednesday. I have the box outside the house and thickish white wires inside. Will they have to replace all the wiring from the outside to the new router?
g3100 router dropping out
I recently upgraded from the Quantum Gateway to the g3100. The Quantum network was very smooth. No issues. On the g3100, I get random dropouts. This appears when streaming music, or the kids playing playstation. The streams stop on occasion; dropout. The kids get kicked out of their online games also. When my wife is on her laptop, she gets kicked off the network on occasion as well.
Any help, advice? Im thinking of going back to the Quantum because we never had issues with it.
Also, g3100 does not seem to be noticeably faster
Promo pricing missing?
I can't seem to get any help on the website with this issue. I signed up for Fios internet and decided that I liked the Verizon router than the one I already had but the $10 promotional discount is not showing on my first bill. Any idea why?
Fios E3200 extender issue with ethernet backhaul
Hi,
I’ve been trying to research this issue but haven’t had much luck (probably because of how new the E3200 extenders still are.) I’m posting here in the hopes of determining whether others may be experiencing similar challenges and identifying any recommendations that may exist.
In a nutshell, I’m experiencing very poor speeds when connected to my E3200 extender. This is true whether I utilize a wired or wireless connection to the extender. The best speeds I’m able to achieve are about 37Mbps down / 52Mbps up. For comparison, when connected to my router on the other side of the house (G3100) I get about 450Mbps down / 500Mbps up. These results have been consistently reproduced without exception over the past months that I’ve been using this hardware, despite many hours of scouting all the settings and menus looking for anything that may be the culprit.
It’s worth noting that I’m using an Ethernet wired backhaul to connect the E3200 extender to my G3100 router. I don’t have a coax outlet in the room where my extender is located, which prompted me to use CAT 6 instead. This does result in a connection (solid white ring on the E3200) but it seems to be limiting the speeds dramatically.
I have contacted Verizon support a few times, but unfortunately these encounters have not resulted in any suggestions or improvements. I don’t think the front line support teams are familiar with these more recent devices, as it felt like they didn’t really understand my issue whenever I’ve reached out for support. I’d really rather not have to run coax to this end of my house if I can avoid it. If anyone else has any experience with this issue and/or any recommendations I’d appreciate them very much!
Worst customer service and worst technician
Today I was late to work because I was in the phone with Verizon for almost 3 hours. I’m really sick of this company I’m paying soo much money and you can’t even solve my problems but transfer me to different people over and over again and now my mom is going to be late to work because the tech guys are an hour late this has happened to me too much and I’m not even going to get compensated but both me and my mom will be making less money this week because of Verizon. If your thinking of getting their service, I would say go with optimum, at least they can treat their customers with respect that they deserve.
When I login to Fios router from wan ip 96.246.XX.XXX I get 403 but when accessing from lan its Fine
Fios router 403 when accessing from wan ip but 192.168.1.1 works fine
2 Verizon Routers on 1 coax line?
I just recently had the g1100 router installed and I bought the previous router, the Fios Quantum Gateway. I'm using the g1100 as my main router in room 1, but in room 2 I need a ethernet connection but I only have a coaxial connection (I can't use a WiFi extender it is too far). So would I be able to us the Quantum Gateway as a router in room 2 if I plug it into the coaxial port? If I can do I have to modify anything in the settings?
G3100 Router Local Domain
I am trying to edit the "Local Domain" on my new G3100 router. I am unable to type anything but numbers in the text box. The input field has some java script to valadate the input and replace anything that is not a number with a nothing ('').
function check_num_input() {
$(this).val(this.value.replace(/[^0-9]/g, ''));
}
Fios Gigibit issues
I ended up on this forum because I’ve been on the phone and chat with tech support more times than I can count. Tech support would not push me to a supervisor and there’s no email address.
I have been paying for gigibit Fios for a few months now. Every since I switched from Xfinity, I have been having issues. My WiFi speeds never exceed 50mb, even when connected to the 5G and standing directly next to the router.
I have had devices hard wired into the router and max out at 80mb. Every time I’ve been on with tech support, they do the typical reset procedures and nothing gets resolved.
this is extremely frustrating as I pay for top tier service, and am receiving sub-par performance. Tech support has been less than helpful every time I’ve reached out. What is my next step?
How to change to Fios router after installing a belkin router initially
As I'm looking to buy and change to a Gateway G1100 router from my existing Belkin, will this be basically a plug and play or should I expect challenges? I am new to Fios, internet only and Fios was installed using my own router. Thanks for any guidance.
New G3100 Router MOCA & Ethernet Connection
Hi, I have the older Actiontec MI424WR with 100/100 Internet speed that I moved from my old house to my new house. When I had the FIOS installed the tech said I needed a Cat5 Ethernet connection and a COAX connection from the FIOS box to my router. However, the Ethernet connection link lights never turn on.
I'm planning on upgrading the router to the new G3100 model. Do I have to have something enabled for the MOCA and Ethernet connection to work....? I am not going to upgrade my speed. I wasn't sure if the MOCA / Ethernet connection was an Either / OR or in conjunction with. Does anyone know..?
Thanks in advance!
