PS4 fortnite download failing

$

I had fortnite on my PS4 and it was working fine, I went to download the new season that just came out and the download would fail at 6.59 Gb or so every time. It would say " cannot download the data is corrupted" something like that, and give error code:  ce-36244-9.

I tried everything i found online. PS4 side first i deleted and reinstalled it the game, I cleared space (although there was plenty of space), I reset settings for ps4, I rebuilt the database for it, I removed formatted and reinstalled the OS off a USB, I even tried a completely new PS4. Every time after each one fortnite update/install failed at about 6.59gb out of 12gb file.

Internet side, I changed the dns i think it was on the PS4 to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4. I also did the port forwarding on my fios quatum router adding in all the ports for PS4 and fortnite specifically on the PS4. I reset my router back to original settings. None of this worked.

I did download another game which was 17gb whereas fortnite is just 12gb and that one downloaded fine. I'm fairly confident its nothing to do with the PS4 system at this point. It either has to be the game itself somehow, or my internet somehow.

I do have a secondary linksys router connected to my fios quantum (Lan port to wan port with ethernet) it has a separate wifi network to conenct to.  it hasnt really given any issues with anything else but could this be an issue? I have no idea what to try. Any suggestions here?

Can I split Ethernet from FiOS box?

I have an Ethernet run from the FiOS box to the Router. Can I split that before the router so one Ethernet cable to the Router and another to a computer.

I have the box in my basement with an Ethernet run to the first floor living room where the router is and another run from the basement to the second floor home office. Do I need to connect the home office Ethernet to the Router or can I just split from the box?

Replacement G1100 Router - Ethernet ports still don’t work correctly

Hi,

With my original G1100, everything was great until around November 2019, when Netflix streaming from my Ethernet-connected FireTV stick would drop. After a few minutes, the connection would come back. This problem continued sporadically until it became a daily occurrence. Verizon replaced the G1100 thinking it had bad Ethernet ports, since the connection light was flashing, but no data was being sent.

I received the new G1100 this past week and installed it. Unfortunately my Ethernet problem still exists. WiFi works great, but there’s no data being sent over Ethernet even though the connector lights flash green like it's sending and receiving data. I also have my Windows 10 PC to the G1100, but the connection drops there too.

It’s hard for me to believe that two G1100’s would have problems with their Ethernet ports, so I’m wondering if a firmware change caused my problem. Or possibly a new setting needs to be changed.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Michael

It appears that tcp port 21 (ftp) is open on my FIOS Quantum Gateway Router.

Can someone please explain to me how to block this incoming port?

Thanks in advance,

IPv6 needed for devices

I recently moved 4 miles away. I had a G1100 and IPv6 settings worked perfect.

New address has the G3100 and the IPv6 settings do not work. While using the G1100 the IPv6 settings still don't work.

I've been on the phone with 'tech support' which is a joke. "What's IPv6?"... "I don't know what IP settings you have"... "What's IPv4?" Those were their questions to me.

What's going on with the IPv6 support?

Fios Internet Disconnecting from PC frequently

My wifi signal keeps disconnecting from my PC rather frequently- i.e. about 6-12 per two to three hour session.  I need to go to the wifi icon and reconnect the pc manually and it works for a while until it happens again.  My PC is  literally inches from the router and it appears that this pc is the only device that this is happening to.  Is it the PC proper and how do I check for this?  It is really annoying.  Any help would be appreciated. Tx.

TV One 4k wifi 6 mesh network

I have a 2300 sq ft home on 3 split levels. I have 1 television and no computer...I use my phone for web browsing. My service includes gigabit Ethernet and I use ondemand to watch 4k movies and live sports (superbowl).

My TV and router and cable box obviously are all together and they are on the ground floor in the southeast corner of the house while my bedrooms are 2 floors up in the northwest corner of the house. 1 bedroom floats in and out between poor service and no service.

I could be wrong but it's my understanding the TV One box is required for 4k content which is my primary objective. Would the new Verizon wifi 6 router (or any wifi 6 router) provide a sufficient increase in coverage (and speed) in my bedrooms or would it be worth the $700 to get the Orbi 6 just to say I am taking full advantage of my gigabit at every point in the house?

Full disclosure my Quantum Gateway is inside a tv cabinet that uses IR repeaters to provide a clean no-show look and gives me about 54 mb/s on speed test from 8 feet away in the same room so almost anything will probably give me better speed. I'm more concerned about coverage.

Lies and a runaround (no accountability)

I'm SOOOO ANGRY.  Verizon fios gave me the bait and switch---and have no accountability for what they've done. I've also seen multiple other posts here complaining of the same thing.

I left Optimum b/c the price was getting too high. You guys gave me a deal that was acceptable to me and I made sure that the price was good for the full 24 months b/c I wouldn't have entered a contract if it wasn't.  I reiterated this fact with the representative multiple times before I agreed to the contract.  2 months in and my bill goes up by $50.  The day the increased bill came, I immediately called and was informed that I was in the Test Drive program. I had no idea what that was b/c nobody ever explained that to me.  I learned that it meant my bill was going up after only a couple of months. I said that was unacceptable as this was NOT what was agreed upon.  I'm now paying considerably more than I was at Optimum.  If that was made clear to me I never would have signed up.

I asked to escalate it and was told by a supervisor it would take about a month for them to review the calls and to see if they were at fault (which they were). He then told me that if I wasn't happy with the results of the escalation I could go to an ala carte option without the contract.  So...I call back a month later (today) only to be informed that it was never escalated and furthermore, they can't go back to the recordings more than 30 days--so he outright lied to me b/c at that point it was 90 days after the call happened. In addition, the person I talked to today informed me that the supervisor who told me his name was "Jason" was not in fact Jason...but some dude named Leo.  So here I am...a few months into my contract---paying $50 more a month (over $1000 over the term of the contract) and not being given a non-contract option as promised.  Instead they gave me 2 months of $45 credit. I'm sooooo angry. Not only have I spent over 4 hours with Verizon on the phone, but I'm also getting the runaround and being forced to either pay a cancellation charge or pay ~$1000 more over the course of the contract.  Verizon obviously screwed up multiple times and even admitted so and apologized---but it's not good enough.  There's still no accountability.  If this isn't addressed, I'm going to make it my personal mission to get the word out on the shady tactics that Verizon is using.   Did I mention I am SOOOO Angry?

New Router but OnDemand problems

I installed a new router the other day.

Changed to ONT.

Released the IP lease and shut down the Fios router

Installed the new router (Netgear r7800) .

Internet works great but On Demand wasn't working.

So I ran an ethernet cable to the new NetGear router.  On Demand starts to work.  But about few minutes in, all internet connection from wi-fi stops working.  I disconnect the Fios Router from ethernet and Wi-fi comes back.

Could use some guidance on what I need to change.

Thanks

PlayStation 4 Downloads being stopped by Verizon, corrupt data.

So I switched to Verizon awhile ago and pretty much went from the lowest tier of Internet up to the highest tier below Gigabit.

I never had any issues with Upload/Download speeds, Games downloaded fine and so on.

I Upgraded to Gigabit about 3 months ago. The first week My Lan Connection was getting 800+ MBPS and my Wifi was about Half that, which is expected .

Now.. roughly two weeks ago I downloaded a new game for my son, it stopped maybe 25% of the way. And Said.. Can't download. Error was the CE- which is for Corrupt Data. I swear he'd my entire Storage for the item, nothing was corrupt. So I deleted and re downloaded.. same thing.

Read that it could be my HDD going.. but it was downloading to a brand new External HDD.

Just to be sure . I reformatted that... Same issue..Bought a New SDD for the PS4,

I rebuild database.. same issue.. I re Initialised PS4... And then FACTORY RESET IT!

SAME ISSUE.

More digging said it was Verizon stopping the downloads because of a random file...

A scheduled a tech to come out after the Rep on the phone did a line check, no problems.

Long story short, Tech found the Box that was installed in basement had a dead backup battery which was draining the speed apparently. And then the Hi Speeds gateway Router I bought from Verizon when I upgraded to Gigabit was faulty as well.

So, New White G3100? I think it's called.

New PS4 HDD, New Gigabit Box... Guess what..

Same issue!!!!

I can't download anything UNLESS I connect to my Sprint Hotspot at 10 Mbps at best and watch paint dry...

I DNT know what else could be stopping the downloads other than Verizon..... I have tried every fix out there ...

Any solutions?

Possible to have Gigabit, but not be offered TV

Is it possible to have Fios Gigabit, but not be able to get TV.  I am being told that TV is not available, even though I am a paying subscriber of Gigabit.  I am living in a new home, but it is in the same town as my old home, that had fios tv.  How can it be TV is not available?  I thought interenet and TV ran off the same thing?

Challenges Installing ONT In an Apartment?

$

I live in a cooperative apartment building in NY.  The previous residents of my unit had Fios.  The ONT was installed in the coat closet and the setup was ATROCIOUS.  They had a bundle of cables running out of the closet through a hole and then across the ceiling and around the entry cutout of the wall into the living room.  It was really bad.  I don't remember what the cables were exactly, but based on what I'm reading about the Verizon ONT setup, you need to run a power cable to it, a phone line, a coax cable for each STB you have, and a coax/ethernet cable to your router.  Gladly, the previous residents got rid of the cabling when they moved out and I ended up going with Cablevision as my provider (they were less expensive at the time).

Now the tables have turned, Cablevision prices have increased and I'm sick of the annual song and dance of threatening to cancel/downgrade service every year when the "promotional" price expires - and Verizon now offers double the bandwidth for less $, plus perks.

So I want Fios.  But I'm not sure how I can make it work without the terrible cabling running across my living room wall.  The solution I was thinking of would be to have the ONT hidden within my TV stand, where my cable modem currently is.  This would be advantageous because it wouldn't even need to be 'installed'; it could just lay on it's back, it would be very close to my router and electrical outlet/surge protector which means I would only have to run one tiny fiber cable to it.   I'm not sure if this will be possible because the ONT's I've seen are obnoxiously HUGE.  I still have the old ONT in my closet and it's GIGANTIC.  I read somewhere that a much smaller ONT exists - I'm wondering if that would be a good option since I don't need a phone line (I think the battery backup is for the phone) or even coax connections since I don't plan on having STB's.  I really just need the equivalent to a cable modem that can live next to my router in my living room with a single ethernet cable to my router - from there all my devices are connected wirelessly.

I'm really hoping VZ has figured out an elegant solution for this scenario - there are usually no electrical outlets in apartment closets and hence you need to run power cables (and others) through the walls.  Has anyone else had this challenge?  I found a video on the Fios website explaining what the ONT is - and they actually removed the ONT part of the unit from the huge enclosure; it looks just like a normal sized modem!  That's exactly what I need!

we just had a G3100 dual band Verizon router installed.

out phones and tablets connect with 5GHz

my Lenovo laptop with Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 3165 wireless adapter only connects at 2.4GHz. Tried various setting on both the router and the laptop with no success.  When I set the laptop to connect with 5GHz my router no longer shows up on the list of available wifi connections.

does any one was able to use the Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 3165 wireless adapter with the G3100 router at 5GHz speed?

G3100 blocks connections to itself

$
0

Friend just moved and the new place has a new Verizon G3100 router. So, I set up the forwarding ports to be the same as the old G1100 router. After troubleshooting, I gave up and talked with Verizon techs and found that the G3100 blocks connections going out and coming back in so you cannot test ports that you set up! That sucks but is manageable.

However, far worse, it means anything that you set up on your laptop or phone to get to "your place" will fail if you are actually at your place. Example: I have an app set up to view 8 cameras on site. I use DDNS to get there, which used to work no matter where I was, at home, on the road, etc. No longer, As soon as I'm in wifi reach of the G3100, it blocks my access!! So, I'm supposed to have 2 different apps set up to view cameras depending upon if I am near the G3100? Let's say you are Honeywell and have a G3100 in your office. You want to look at your wifi thermostat? You need a server in the cloud to access it because the G3100 (unlike any other router I know, the G1100, D-Link, etc) will block you from using a DDNS address (or your official Honeywell address) inside its realm.

Did I miss something? I suspect the G3100 wasn't all that tested or thought out - because in guessing that I might need to reboot to get port forwarding to work, the G3100 blocked all outgoing connections except from the router's diagnostic ping, after reboot! The tech had to reset the router to factory to get it to allow outgoing connections..??

OK, what did I miss? Time to rip out the G3100 and put the old G1100 in its place to get a proper working router?
