Fios Internet | Parental Control Does Not Work

Hi

 

I want to block youtube. I followed these steps

 

1.

Parent Control and Created rule

 

Blocked Website and Embedded Keyword:

Website:www.youtube.com

Website:www.reuters.com

keyword:youtube

 

3. Set timings.

 

4. Apply.

 

But it does not take effect. Nothing is getting blocked.

 

I am using Fios Quantum Gateway Router. I am making these changes through wifi. I am not physically connected with router.

Hello,

 

I will be building a 2 story addition to the back of my house and before I can get started, I need to have Verizon re-route the wires running across the rear wall of the house to my neighbors.  The wires are running right down the middle of where we will be demolishing the back of the house.

 

Can you assist with this request?

We've had this service for months now and never got close to 900 MB. Connected a personal server, laptop and game console. Not a single device had over 400 MB, reboot the router same thing... Call Verizon, everything looks fine from our end... You have to use our speed test to get accurate results, PLEASE explain to me why we have to use VERIZON'S speed test when others ie. Cogent doesnt require a test to be preformed on their local servers. You fluff your numbers and sucker your customers...

Fios drilled through Gas Line - Will not inspect or repair

On Friday, 10/25/19, Verizon Fios technicians came to my home to install Fios. On Saturday (10/26), when moving in, we discovered there was a gas leak. After getting the gas shutoff by National Grid and thorough inspection by both National Grid and the contractor who built the home, we discovered that Verizion technicians drilled through our gas linewhen bringing fiber into the house. I have contacted them on 10/27 and twice on 10/28 and they keep telling me that someone will call me soon. However, having the gas shut-off is a major issue and they do not seem to take it as a priority. I have waited more than one 24-hour period, the time they quoted, and still no help. 

 

Has anyone had experience with situations like this? Will they try and argue that it isn't there fault? How often does Verizon cause major damage and try to avoid the customer?

Quantum Router Not Allowing Connection to External VPN

My work has a VPN that operates off L2TP with shared key. The VPN is managed by a Peplink Balance One router. 

 

I have FiOS service at home, using the old ActionTec mi424 gateway. I have no problems accessing my work's VPN. Users on Xfinity have no problem accessing the VPN. If I am remote, and I use my T-Mobile connection to access the VPN, I have no issues. 

 

I have two users that access the VPN using the Quantum (G1100) router. Both of those users cannot connect to our office VPN. Try as I might, I cannot alter the settings on the G1100 enough to allow the VPN connection. I've followed Port Forwarding guides available on this forum and elsewhere. Nothing is working. 

 

My options are 1) drop the VPN security back down to PPTP, which I don't want to do, or 2) require those two users to purchase the older Actiontec router, which they don't want to do. 

 

Really out of options here. Need to know how/why these G1100 routers cannot connect to L2TP VPNs. 

Verizon Fios Last button

For 30 years I've know last button to be the button you press to go back to the last show your were watching with all 5 providers including Antenna services. This new update is ridiculous and just adds steps for me to go back to the last channel I was watching. Essentially its THE SAME THING AS THE FAVORITES button. Stop fixing thing that are not broken.

Need some assistance. I need to speak with a decision maker in Verizon to inform him/her/them that an entire neighborhood is interested in getting the Verizon FIOS services. Currently FIOS is not available in our area in Haymarket, Prince William County, Northern VA. Residences are demanding for an alternative service. In my neighborhood alone approximately 60 households are eager, interested in Verizon FIOS service. If you know of anyone from Verizon or have successfully requested/demanded to have FIOS service in your area, please contact me.

Does Fios/Verizon do computer hookups? I am thinking about replacing my computer with a new CPU that has Windows 10( my current has 7) and I am not that computer savvy.

Hi all.  So I'm not sure if I have MoCA or ethernet.  What I mean is that I have a dedicated coax running from the ONT and an ethernet running directly out of the ONT.  Do I need to use both? I recently just bought this house so I'm not sure when it was wired or updated.

 

From my research it seems that coax was installed pre-2016.  

 

I own a Fios gateway and an ASUS RT-AC3100 which I would like to use. I'm reading conflicting info on how to set it up though.  From what I understand I need to be operating the ASUS router in access point mode.  But for wiring, I'm not sure how it goes... 

 

My assumption is that the ethernet coming directly out of the ONT needs to be plugged into the Fios Gateway. Then another ethernet cable plugged into the LAN port on the Fios Gateway, routed to (and this is where I get confused) a LAN port on the ASUS router. Or should it be the WAN port on the ASUS router?  

 

I'm pretty confused. Any help would be appreciated.

How do I get the attention of someone arbitrarily Fios to FIX my 2 day old service problem?

I have made countless phone calls, waited on hold for nearly 2 hours, been hung up on, and brushed off repeatedly. My internet and on demand services have not worked for over 2 days, the ticket has been open for 2 days and was promised resolution over 24 hours ago. Will someone actually look into this? WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER.

The tech told me that I have to hire an outside company to have the cable buried. I am a little confused as I though all wiring from utility to home was Verizon's responsibility. What can I do about this?


Can't get port forwarding to work

Port forwarding in the router, Fios-G1100, appears in two places and I'm assuming the one under Advanced -> Network Settings applies to the path from the Internet to the router and the other under Firewall applies to the path from the router to an individual computer behind the router. 

 

I have set up a rule to forward from the outside to the router

But www.yougetsignal.com is telling me the port is closed. Could this be due to a bug in the router firmware?

All devices have been blocked?

Found all my devices had been blocked this morning and even after rebooting my router I am unable to connect any of them and they all seem to remain blocked?

Wireless Quandary

Fed up with Spectrum's 200mbps bandwidth, I signed up for FiOS today. Then I noticed their gateway router, (required for TV connectivity) only operates at 2.4ghz and 5.0ghz frequency. The problem there is those freqs and channels are completely saturated in my apartment. I can have LAN copy speeds of 2-3MB/s. The router I use today operates at 5.8ghz which gets my throughout up to 70MB/s. (I won't get into the problem that my subwoofer operates on this freq). I'm kind of left with the impression that FiOS might not work for me with their band limitaiton, especially as their cable boxes now also operate wirelessly. I'm thinking of cancelling the order. Any thoughts?

I sign up for the 100 MBPS for $39.99, and since then, I am charged with $79.99. What the SAME!! I have called the customer service several times to adjust my payment, and every time I have to hold for 30 minutes to fix my amount. Every MONTH!! What is the use of customer service when there is no service?
