We live in a rural part of Pennsylvania. The community I live in was wondering when FIOS might become available and we have not gotten a straight answer. My speed currently sits between 1 and 2 mbps. We have 7 houses in our community, 10 or so in another close to ours and even more than that out towards our state park with several businesses as well. Some of us would like the option to work at home, but our speeds just don't allow for it (I'm an engineer connecting to our companys servers downloading large files). My kids even have trouble doing their homework on speeds that slow. Hughesnet is too expensive and unreliable for our needs. Is there any chance that verizon is planning on extending fios service to that area? I can guarantee almost all of of us would upgrade to the fios speeds. I actually have to shut devices down and turn off their wifi several times a week so that the kids and me can get the full benefit on the device we are using.
