Hello all,
I've been using the G1100 for quite some time now. I have used dozens of Static Leases in my home network with no issues. Upgraded to the G3100 today, and noticed I cannot create more than 10 Static Leases in DHCP. Before I call support, or return the device, I'm curious if anyone else has seen this issue, or if there is a know workaround, or I should return the G3100.
G3100 - Firmware G.1.3.6.27. HW Version 1102.
Thanks.

Gateway/Own Router Question
I bought Nest WiFi about 2-3 weeks ago and turned my Gateway into a bridge. Everything worked fine except my Nest thermostats. They were getting IP addresses from the Gateway still even though the AP radios were off and I had reset the thermostats and reset network settings. So then I turned off DHCP on the Gateway altogether.
Everything worked great after that until yesterday. My wired devices starting having issues (Xbox yesterday, TV today...) They were not getting IP from the Nest router anymore. I remembered seeing an email from Verizon a week ago about an update they sent to my Gateway to enable some new feature... Anyway not sure if that's related or not. All I know is all I could do to get the wired devices working again is turn the Gateway DHCP server back on. Anyone else have this problem just pop up this week? I don't want to run into NAT issues using two devices assigning DHCP addresses. Especially when one decide is Xbox, which I know is very tempurmental with NAT.
Port Forwarding working...or...not?
Just switched back to FIOS from Cox. Setup went smooth, everything is rocking, nice and fast. I run a media server and have for years (Emby). I have a dynamic DNS that forwards to whatever my current IP address is (typical setup). So normally to login to my Emby server, I can open a browser and type in xxx.no-ip.biz:8096, which takes me to the login page. Ping.eu says the port is open. I can login to the Emby server from my PC on the same LAN by going to x.x.x.x:8096, the local IP, typical. If I try to connect to it via the external method as noted above, I get nothing. I have tried this from all 4 PCs and 2 tablets on premises. However, if I try to connect to it from ANY other PC out there on the interwebs, no problems at all. In other words, I cant see my own server externally from my own LAN. I have turned off windows firewall... Heck, I even put the server on the DMZ...nothing. The ONLY way to see it is from anywhere BUT my LAN. Nothing on the PCs or tablets here has changed. Completely at a loss. Thoughts?
Escalated Customer Service Number
Own router (pfSense) Internet going down every 2 hours
Verizon won't refund my account
I'm a new verizon customer and I have called 3 times to verizon and been given the run around like I have never seen before. I paid my bill early but had forgotten I was already enrolled in auto-pay. I spoke to 2 representatives that both assured me I would get a refund for the transaction. After the fifth day, checking my account, I had still not recieved it. So I called a third agent today and they told me the refund had never even been requested! I called several different departments and they all have been transferring me to random departments and I've been on hold for hours! I am **bleep**. From being patronized and talked to like I'm an idiot, to bouncing around from department to department, I can honestly say that this is once of the worst services I have ever experienced.
I have not received any confirmation for my recent internet order.
On December 2 I ordered 200/200 Mbps Fios (special Cyber Monday promotion) for $39.99/month, no contract, with a year of Disney+ and a $100 prepaid Visa card. I created my account with Verizon after ordering and my bank statement confirms that my deposit was received.
When I access my Verizon account, I see the following message: "Error Loading Order Details. We're processing your order. Use the refresh button to try again. If you're still not seeing your order information, please notify your agent or call 1.800.VERIZON"
I verified my phone number and email address. Verizon never emailed me an order confirmation and it did not go to spam. I have also not received any calls. It is going on 72 hours since I ordered and I beginning to become a little more than concerned.
I would think a national company as huge and reputable as Verizon is capable of an email confirmation with the details of my order. The only good thing is that I copiously recorded every window of the order and have all the details to prove my order was placed.
I spoke to both the normal customer support and a higher up supervisor which I had to find the phone number for online. Both told me my order was "on their backend" and I will be contacted soon. When I first ordered the internet, the chat agent told me I would receive the email confirmation within 24 hours. I feel like I am being given the run around and as a new customer I do not feel appreciated or respected.
What is going on? Is this how Verizon operates? I have ordered from all sizes of companies and all have given me confirmation about what I ordered. It is a common courtesy. This is extremely unprofessional.
Can someone supply with me the best number to call to resolve this? I need to talk to the highest level person that I'm able to. I need to be confident that my order is even in their system. I need to get in touch and be absolutely certain about everything. I also need to change the installation date, which I can't do because I can't view my order online. Thank you.
Fios Installation Question
I am a new Fios customer and the technician is supposed to be coming next week. I live in a newer apartment and the only internet we have had is Cox. There is a wire box in one of the closets with Cat 5 and Cat 5e wires, where I believe the ONT will be installed. I want to have an ethernet installation instead of coax.
I want to install my router in my office which is across from the room where the ONT will go (unless the ONT can be installed in my office). I don't want to run ethernet cable across the floor to my router. The only jacks I have are coax and phone, however, I read something about technicians being able to change the phone jack to ethernet so that you can plug in there.
Can somebody please tell me if technicians do this sort of thing? It would be highly preferable compared to drilling through the wall or having an ethernet cable on the floor. If I could get an ethernet jack near my PC everything would be perfect. I'm not sure how complicated it would be to have this done. I'm assuming there is wiring in place since the building is newer and my wire box has the Cat 5/5e cables.
In the event that this isn't possible, what are my options? Will the technician install the ONT at the coax in my office and connect ethernet to my router from there? The issue then is that I can't use the coax for cable TV. I'd appreciate it if anybody can explain what my options are, or how to ask the technician to do this. I don't want to annoy the technician if this is going to be too difficult.
Thank you.
What’s the best router to replace the one I’m renting from Verizon.
What’s the best router to replace the one I’m renting from Verizon. My speed is 980/880 MBps, and I have the Fios quantom gateway router.
Using own router and Verizon's for TV
So about a week ago, I installed my own router and connected my verizon router to one of the LAN ports on my own one. Recently however, my internet has been cutting in and out to the port of rebooting my own router and my Fios TV Mini's have been saying "Preparing Network Connection" whenever I turn them on.
I've had Verizon come out mulitple times for the connection lost problem and I've had almost everything replace (ONT, their router, the cabling) but nothing is working. I also cannot connect to the IP address I gave my verizon router so i can still access its settings (192.168.1.2 because my router got 192.168.1.1). I do have a internet connection, but it just cuts in and out every other day or so. Is this something I should address to Verizon again? Also, I recently found out my Verizon Router isn't communicating with any wired/wireless devices, including my Fios Tv Mini's and set up boxes. I have coaxial in Verizon's Router still, but I am not receiving any connection.
Some websites are blocked by verizon only
Verizon and Steam problem (east coast)
Since this morning I have not been able to download anything on steam - it will sit at 10KB/s but nothing really ever starts downloading. Enabling VPN immediately fixes the issue. I was just browsing the steam forum and saw two other east coast FIOS users are also experiencing the same problem. I am in DC. I've tried many things to fix it, including restarting computer, router, and ONT. I flushed dns cache, changed dns servers, checked windows firewall, router firewall, windows defender, etc. Been fiddling with it all day.
Again enabling a VPN connection immediately fixes the issue so I'm guessing there has to be a routing problem or a block going on here?
Any help? Thanks!
connecting my Honeywell Lyric thermostat
Hi, everyone!
Yesterday I got a new G3100 router and now I'm having a problem with connecting my Honeywell Lyric T6 thermostat.
The thing is that thermostat works only on 2.4G wi-fi speed. On my previous router from Spectrum i could choose two different wi-fi speeds when I tried to connect different devices. On my new G3100 either it's not possible or I simply don't know how to do it and I can't find any info about it.
Would I need a new thermostat that supports 5G?
Please, help.

Issues using own router with FIOS
I recently replaced the Verizon router with my own Modem ( ARRIS SURFboard Docsis 3.1 Gigabit Speed Cable Modem and Router (Tenda AC15 AC1900 Wireless Wi-Fi Gigabit Smart Router). The previous Verizon FIOS modem has both an ONT and MoCA. I followed the steps in the forum post https://forums.verizon.com/t5/Fios-Internet/Using-your-own-router-with-Verizon-FiOS/td-p/851632. I released the DHCP Lease, and connect my own modem and router, and the internet worked fine. I was able to connect all of my devices. However, by Day 3, mobile phone devices and tablets would no longer connect. However, my Smart TV and Amazon Fire would still remain connected and continued to work. By day 5, all devices stopped connecting. I eventually had to reconnect the old Verizon router. The only step I failed to do was to call a Verizon rep to switch my FiOS Internet connection switched from MoCA to Ethernet at the ONT because I have both ONT and MoCA. I’m not sure if that caused the issue because the Internet service worked for a short time period. Any help would be appreciated in correcting this problem. I am definitely tired of renting a router, when I have my own.
HELP! Verizon Will Not Prorate After Cancellation
Please HELP!
I've been trying to cancel fios internet, through the website, chat and phone calls. Cancelling through the site is down, chat will not help you cancel, and on customer service phone calls... they drop you when you want to cancel. Today, I FINALLY was able to get ahold of someone who instead of talking me out of it/and or hanging up on my call when I told them I want to cancel. They cancelled my service, but then claim I owe a full month billing. I missed the cycle (for reasons above) and they will not prorate.
How is this ethical or legal? HELP! I asked the rep to please escalate this to someone who can help, I spoke with an Albert who claims to be the Verizon highest level manager besides Verizon's executive board. He said his word is the end of the road and trying harder would deliver his counterparts who would read me the same information. Is there anyone at VERIZON who can help make this right?
New home fios installation
I am writing this on behalf of my nephew. He has moved in a new construction home and is trying to get fios installed. Apparently the home address is not i the verizon database. Verizon FIOS is available on both sides of him. When he tries to sign up he gets fios is not available at his address. Calls to verizon CS has gotten nowhere. Can you please help?
Verizon G3100 dual band router website certificate problem
I recently upgraded my package to 100/100 mps with the new Verizon dual band router. When I try to log into the web page I get a certificate error.
Your PC doesn’t trust this website’s security certificate.
The hostname in the website’s security certificate differs from the website you are trying to visit.
Error Code: DLG_FLAGS_INVALID_CA
DLG_FLAGS_SEC_CERT_CN_INVALID
Go on to the webpage (Not recommended)
Plus when I run the verizon speed test it runs the router fine but when the device starts it say failed. I've run speed tests on other sites and they where fine. any Ideas of what is going on would be appreciated. I've tried several things and none of them have worked with the certificate. Would appreciate any advice.
service started 3 weeks ago, but still no equipment sent to me for me to use the service
Started my service 3 weeks ago. Was supposed to be shipped the router for self installation. It did not show up. I was able to get hold of an agent on chat the week before last, who created a ticket and told me it would be resolved in 3-5 business days. It's been over 5 business days, there's been no response to the ticket, I still don't have the equipment, and I still don't have my Internet access. I haven't even had the "service" a full month yet and I'm already at the point of cancelling.
FBI recommends Separate Network (VLAN) for IoT which Vz doesn't support
Just last week, the Portland, OR office of the FBI recommended, "Your fridge and your laptop should not be on the same network. Keep your most private, sensitive data on a separate system from your other IoT devices." https://www.fbi.gov/contact-us/field-offices/portland/news/press-releases/tech-tuesday-internet-of-things-iot
I use FIOS for TV and internet connectivity. The G1100 router/MOCA box Vz supplies doesn't support VLANs. The rest of my environment is managed with a Ubiquiti switch and six UBNT access points and and UBNT CloudKey controller. I'd like to use a UBNT router, and maintain video on demand (VOD) and DVR playback to a local iPad/iPhone/Chromebook along with setting up DVR recording when remote as requirements.
I know that there are published posts here, at DSL Reports and on the Ubiquiti Community website on how to set up FIOS and UBNT hardware to accomplish my goal. All clealy (and appropriately state) Verizon will not support the configuration described here.
Now that the FBI is recommending use of a separate network are we all supposed to switch to business class service or can Verizon be induced to support appropriate separation of an IoT network?
Does Vz monitor this forum? Can anyone suggest how to bring this FBI recommendation to Verizon's notice?
Regards to all in the community./Steve
