I called in a week ago to change my service from 75/75M to 150/150M. As I had just finished my 2 year contract, I was an "internet service free agent" and looking for the best deal possible. The first CSR I spoke to refused to offer me the new customer pricing ($69.99/mo) and told me I must cancel, disconnect and come back a few days later. Not what I wanted to hear. So I went shopping to COMCAST and found a better deal at 200M for $59.99. Since I've been with Verizon for a number of years, and own a Quantum router, I figured I'd give them one more chance. I used the chat service and told the 2nd CSR what I had learned. She ended up giving me the 150M service at the new customer price of $69.99/mo and told me she'd waive the $150 upgrade fee. Which all sounded great until I got the pre-bill showing the $150 fee (chopped in 3 parts). Calling back, of course no one has a record of the promise/chat, no CSR notes and this 3rd CSR says they NEVER waive that fee.... to which I replied, that it was a deal breaker then. So she offers me $50 off, like I'm supposed to take less than what I was promised.
Lesson learned people, save those chat sessions!!
Very deceptive Verizon!!! Feels like a bait and switch routine. Time to call COMCAST again.
