VISA Reward Cards redemption is unnecessarily confusing; Is it actually possible to redeem?

While moving I decided to upgrade my service from 100Mbps to 300Mbps and as part of that upgrade there was an offer for a VISA gift card. The terms of the promotion require registering. I tried registering a few times soon after moving, but was not able to do so, ending up sent to a page saying "Sorry. We could not find a matching record for the account information provided." This morning I receive an email saying "Time is running out for your Visa prepaid rewards card - register now," so I tried again and ended up with the same error. The email explicitly says to click on a "FIOS Welcome Bonus Link" which does not exist anywhere.

I called the number on that error page, but only a phone tree was available which eventually reveals that the offices are open on weekdays only and has no option for talking to a promotions department.

I then call the "My Rewards+" number, which is open on the weekends and they're able to transfer me to a promotions department which apparently is open on the weekends. The representative at the promotions line at first says I need to register between 31 and 60 days for the promotion. However, they must have noticed that it was currently in that range of time since the transition and changed that to more than 65 days. They then offer to tranfer me, and I ask to make sure it's to an actual person and not a phone tree, and they say that it's an actual person. Of course, they then proceed to redirect my call to the original phone tree.

The representative made claims that the emails when I signed up for service should have included details saying that I needed to wait 65 days before registering for rewards, but I've been unable to find any such email. I am finally able to find the email he mentions which does mention needing service for 65 days to redeem the gift card buried in fine print at the bottom of the email.

However, in a far more obvious place at the top of the My Verizon page it says "Register now to get your Visa Rewards Card: In order to receive your reward, you must register within 60 days of your FIOS installation. Please take a few moments and do so today." However, clicking the "Register Now" button on that banner takes me to "vzrewards.verizon.com", which doesn't show any options for registering.

Taken together these two sources of information say I need to wait 65 days after installation before registering and another source saying I need to register within 60 days of installation. This, of course means I would need to register in that non-existent time later than 65 days but earlier than 60 days!

To conclude:

Verizon, don't send out emails telling someone "Time is running out" to register for something before they're actually able to register for it. Also, directing people straight to the promotions department when a promotion fails would be better than a generalized support phone tree. Also, shame on the promotions department person for sending me to a phone tree when they said it would be a person. Get your promotions system sorted out!
