So here's the short version of my experience over the last week and a half.
I've been attempting to get internet service through Verizon since last Wednesday. Over this time, I've spoken to about 15 different reps. I was told I could self install, which was the first question I asked, since my schedule has me out during normal business hours. Every rep I spoke to has given me conflicting information from the previous rep I spoke to. One even told me to forget what everyone else has said before her. Two of them told me not to worry and I would get the equipment shipped to me. Two more told me I need to take off work to set up a time for a tech to come out (something I specifically requested not to do based on my schedule). Another one asked me why I'm even trying to get the service since I work two jobs. I was promised I would have the equipment shipped to me and given three different time frames for when I would receive it, and told it already shipped. Today I was told it hadn't and wouldn't be shipped and a tech was bringing it. I was promised three separate callbacks and received none. And no one would let me speak to a manager.
I have never been met with such poor customer service and professionalism. I have given Verizon countless opportunities to earn my businesses, but I'm starting to feel like they don't want it. I've been without internet for two weeks now, and I'm dangerously close to exceeding the data on my phone because of this. Is this how this company treats it's customers? I've been a world's customer for nearly 10 years, and I'm starting to wonder if I should take my business elsewhere, for both internet and wireless service.
