Cancelled service - billing issues

Hi, I had Fios internet service and I asked for my services to be cancelled by April 2nd. I have the confirmation for that as well as the receipt for the equipment that I returned. However, I have been billed for the month of April as well as the month of May. I've called several times and raised a service ticket to adjust the amount on May 15th but there was nothing done. What can I do to have this cleared? I am out of the country so if any notices had been sent, I wouldn't have received them (haven't received anything at a forwarding address either).
