Most people wouldn't complain about this issue because they might be embarrassed but with me, it's the principal so pride be damned!
We were celebrating a friend's 50th birthday last night and after a few laughs and
beverages, decided to rent an adult film. The one we chose had MILF's in the
title, of course, in keeping with the theme of the party. We proceeded to rent the
79 minute film for $18.99, a bit pricey but it was a special occassion. However, upon
starting the movie, we realized quickly that the movie was not even remotely related
to what it suggested in the title. We fast forwarded to make sure we weren't mistaking but there was not one MILF or activity that the title suggested. We then shut if off after watching a total of about 5 minutes. I called Verizon today to complain about their false advertising and that the film was not what it claimed to be. The representitive told me that once the movie was watched, my money could not be refunded. I explained that I understood that and was not trying to get something for free, but that I could not have know that the movie I rented was not the movie I got, unless I started to watch it but quickly stopped when I fast forwarded to the end and realized it was not what I rented. I explained that if I had rented a Rocky DVD and found Terms of Endearment when I got home, it would be the same concept. My point was taken but again my request for a refund was denied. I am 58 years old and do not rent adult films. It's not like I was trying to get a cheap thrill for free. I am disappointed at Verizon's unwillingness to see my point and grant my refund request also, buyers beward...these adult film titles are misleading and should be reported to the FCC.
