Yesterday, I upgraded my Fios 75/75 service to 150/150. The past two years, the 75/75 service has worked great (I should also add that I discontinued TV and phone).
As part of the this, a tech came out, upgraded the equipment (modem) in basement and converted to Cat5 using existing Cat5 in basement. I have the same router (Quantum Gateway G1100) as I was told it's Verizon's latest.
Since converting, we've had poor internet connectivity. I called Verizon and they indicated that it was because we had 25 devices on 2.4g and that we should have some on the 5g to spread out the devices. I mentioned, we've never had issues with this in the past. Nevertheless, I moved some of our laptops and tablets to 5g and they seem to work fine so far.
One of the issues is that now the devices on 2G still are working poorly (Apple TV, Roku, etc.). When I switch to 5G, the streaming gets interrupted (I was told the range isn't as good with 5G and I may need extenders). Well, My Apple TV is in the next room. IF this is the case, I'd need extenders everywhere.
Does anyone have any thoughts? Verizon changed the frequency, and I tried rebooting all to no avail.
